Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to the Sketch & Sail website ("the Site"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Site and the services offered, including bookings for creative and sailing experiences. Please read them carefully before registering or making a booking.

By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

2. Description of Services

Sketch & Sail organises guided trips combining creative activities (drawing, sketching) with sailing in scenic maritime destinations. Programmes offered include, but are not limited to:

  • Ionian Art Week – Ionian Islands, September 2026
  • Sporades – Northern Sporades, September–October 2026
  • Thassos – Thassos Island, Summer–Autumn 2026

No prior experience in art or sailing is required to participate.

3. Bookings and Payments

3.1. Booking Process

A booking is considered confirmed upon receipt of written confirmation from Sketch & Sail and payment of the required deposit.

3.2. Pricing

All prices listed on the Site are in Euros (EUR) and include the services described in the programme. Sketch & Sail reserves the right to update prices at any time, without affecting already confirmed bookings.

3.3. Payment Methods

Payments are accepted via bank transfer and through the approved online payment methods listed on the Site.

3.4. Deposit

A non-refundable deposit, as specified at the time of booking, is required to confirm your place. The remaining balance is due by the deadline stated in the confirmation.

4. Cancellations and Changes

4.1. Cancellation by the Client

The following cancellation policy applies:

  • More than 60 days before departure: 50% refund of the amount paid (excluding the deposit)
  • 30–60 days before departure: no refund, deposit retained
  • Less than 30 days before departure: no refund

4.2. Cancellation by Sketch & Sail

Sketch & Sail reserves the right to cancel or modify a programme due to force majeure, adverse weather conditions, vessel technical issues, or insufficient participant numbers. In such cases, clients will receive a full refund of payments made or the option to transfer to an alternative date.

4.3. Programme Changes

Routes and activities may be adapted due to weather or navigational conditions. Sketch & Sail is not liable for such changes when they are made in the interest of participant safety.

5. Participant Responsibilities

By booking a place, each participant agrees to:

  • Provide accurate and complete personal information at the time of registration
  • Follow the instructions of the crew and organisers on board
  • Inform Sketch & Sail in advance of any health conditions, allergies, or special requirements
  • Hold appropriate travel and accident insurance
  • Take responsibility for their own equipment, valuables, and travel documents

6. Liability and Insurance

Sketch & Sail takes all reasonable care to ensure participant safety but accepts no liability for injuries, losses, or damages caused by circumstances beyond the organisers' control, natural events, or the conduct of participants themselves.

All participants are required to hold valid insurance covering medical evacuation, personal accident, and trip cancellation. Sketch & Sail strongly recommends arranging such cover at the time of booking.

7. Health and Safety

Participants must be in sufficiently good physical and mental health to take part in maritime and creative activities. Sketch & Sail reserves the right to refuse participation or remove any person whose behaviour poses a risk to the safety or wellbeing of others, without entitlement to a refund.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site – including text, images, logos, graphics, and design – is the property of Sketch & Sail and is protected under applicable intellectual property law. Copying, distributing, or using any content without the express written consent of Sketch & Sail is prohibited.

Artworks created by participants during the programmes remain their own property. Participants grant Sketch & Sail permission to use such works for promotional purposes, unless they have explicitly stated otherwise in writing.

9. Data Protection

Sketch & Sail processes the personal data of its clients in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union and applicable national legislation. Personal data is collected solely for the purpose of processing bookings and communicating with clients.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the applicable law of the jurisdiction in which Sketch & Sail is registered. In the event of a dispute, the parties will seek resolution through good-faith negotiation. If agreement cannot be reached, the matter will be referred to the competent court.

11. Changes to These Terms

Sketch & Sail reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon publication on the Site. Continued use of the Site after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
